Sawhorses, first.
You can do a lot, from waist high. Get a couple of larger handscrews from Jorgensen and a pipeclamp to hold them to the top of each sawhorse.
Working from your knees is for the really young.
There's not enough Ibuprofen in the World to get me planing, at ground level. yikes

I have the General Int'l dust collector model 10-005m1. Does anyone else have one? If you do, have you had trouble with the motor? Mine decided it did not want to work today. I had been using it off and on without issue, then when I flipped the switch nothing happened. First time in 3 years I've had a problem with it. I took the switch cover off and tested voltage, the switch is good. I'm kind of dumbfounded at the moment. It does have a round device in the switch cover that I'm not familiar with. The start capacitor is under a separate cover, so I'm not sure what this device does. There is no overload reset, even though I am 99% sure I didn't overload it. Anyone have any experience with these dc's?
