My brother ordered a spindle adapter from them and had much the same experience. He did receive what he ordered but it took much longer than a person would expect.

Hope this isn't out of line.

Not out of line. Honestly, I didn't know Reed made those. I have the Oneway, and I'm very happy with it. Otherwise I would have bought one.

  Building Kitchen Cabinets Question
Posted by: Halfathumb - 11-29-2015, 08:23 AM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (6)

There probably is, but you may end up short and having to make multiple trips for supplies.

Before I start any project, I have drawings, either from a mag/book or drawn myself. From those, I come up with a Bill of Materials (BOM) and then make up a cut list. If it's my own design, I use Visio to create my cut drawings as I can quickly make a 4' x 8' box (sheet dimensions 1" = 1') and start arranging my pieces. You can do the same thing in Sketchup.

  Frame and panel door questions
Posted by: Zalsa - 11-29-2015, 07:16 AM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (3)

I've trimmed almost all of the F&S cabinet doors. I purposely make the stile slightly long so I can cut them to size. I trim them on the TS using my sliding side table. But if you don't have one I recommend you make yourself a solid panel sled of which there are several on line ides to do this.

For the hinges I like to use hinges that are solid and look good on the piece of furniture you're making. I'm not sure if this what you're asking though.

I am big fan but not a turner, so ask the guys in the turning forum below, you'd get more specific answers. I'm not a big turner, but the good turners I know all use Wolverine jigs on slow speed grinders.

  Knock down assembly table
Posted by: Demps - 11-28-2015, 06:35 PM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (7)

huge difference between the hollow core and solid core door.

The hollow core will be trashed the first time you need to persuade a joint together

The solid core is going to be about 10 times heavier than the HC door so expect to get some weight lifting in

My assembly table top is two laminated core cutoffs 1 3/4" 10 " wide x 80" long from a solid core door

Served me well for over 15 yrs now , I can still set up in minutes and I am not lifting a SC door onto sawhorses

I am not sure but it might help to look at Stealth lights website.

They have seperate sensors and a lot of diffirent products and i have been really happy with some lights from them. They also have a design service and they are probably really helpful if you call them too.

Show me your miter saw fence
Posted by: Worthing - 11-28-2015, 04:36 PM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (2)

I published plans for a miter station in the May/June 2015 issue of WWJ.
My Miter Station

The fence is built into the cut shelf in the cabinets. If you do not need a portable miter saw set up, this one provides storage AND bench tops that do not interfere with using the saw.
