I still prefer a huot drill index. I have several for different tasks 1/8-1/2, 1-60, 60-80 is too small in my opinion, and SAE and metric tap and drill sets. They just seem so durable for what I do. They work ok for travelling in a toolbox or bag but any serious boggle and some smaller bits may fall out of their spot. I haven't had any issues though.

I have a painted bath vanity cabinet job coming up. I need a product I can spray with my gravity feed HVLP guns and ML Campbell's pigmented lacquer has the right viscosity at 35 - 45 seconds #4 Ford cup and is KCMA rated. I'm interested if anyone has used this product and liked it, hated, it, has any advise, etc. Thanks.
John
Agualente is pretty old technology, and not that great a finish. I mean, it sprays well, mind you, it's just not that tough.
If i was doing these for something i cared about, i'd use either aguabarnice or aquatana
Most ml campbell distributors carry white tinted aguabarnice and can pigment stuff to whatever color you want.
Aguatana is expensive as all get out but great (i only use it on super-high end jobs, and in most cases, i grab stuff from ILVA or ICA instead)
This all assumes you want water based stuff. If you are willing to do solvent based stuff, clawlock and resistant are *great* products.

a little nostalgia over "cordless" tools |

Those who hang out in the Hand Tools Forum would appreciate those memories. Both the tools you showed are still available - either as vintage tools or as new production. Store them in a special place to honor the memory of your father.

My local Home Depot has the DeWalt DWS782 on sale for $399, originally priced at $599. It's the 12-inch compound sliding miter saw. I bought one of these last year and have used it quite a bit. I like the extra capacity over my 10-inch fixed saw. The only thing this doesn't have is a laser to mark the cut line. Otherwise, it appears to be the full featured DW780. Not sure if this is similar to the DW717 but something to look into.
