Planning to have a whole house generator installed in the next couple of months. The installer, a local electrician, lives on our street and has a Kohler at his house. His son, also on our street, has a Generac that the father installed. He (the electrician) installed his Kohler so as to have a comparison with the son's Generac. (Both were installed at the same time and are basically the same rating.) Thus, he feels that one brand is not that much better than the other and is in effect evaluating both at the same time under the same conditions. They have not been in use long enough to draw any conclusions as to reliability, maintenance costs, etc., so I can't decide which I should have installed. My question to you fine folks is this: do you have any personal experience with either brand, good or bad, that you can share to help in this decision? Thanks, ronwhit

I have done a lot of plumbing with PVC, but never with PEX. I had my "Little House" plumbed by a contractor who used PEX. I now need to install shutoffs and connections so I can hook up the sinks, shower, etc.
What do I need to do this? A crimper tool, for one. Cost from about $50 to $150 at Lowes.
Thanks
For those who saw and contributed to my post about wiring. I installed a 200amp disconnect under the meter, then ran 4-0 in conduit to the 200amp breaker box in the house. Everything is working as it should.

I just found out that Minwax has discontinued their Antique Oil. Not a fan of Minwax products but I liked the AO so of course, they discontinue it! It was easy to apply and did what I wanted.
I used in mainly on walnut to pop the grain and thought it did a nice job of it. Mostly, I sprayed GF Enduro over that. Always looked nice, at least to me.
Now that it is discontinued, what do the experts on here use to pop the grain?
I assume BLO would work but doesn't that take quite a while to dry enough to spray over? Not a terribly patient person!! LOL I generally waited a day for the AO to dry.
Someone told me the Bullseye Seal Coat would work. Any thoughts?
Also, I am going to be making cabinets for a entire kitchen out of QS white oak.
What is the best way to pop the grain in oak?
Once again, I will be spraying GF Enduro over the top.

I've shopped McFeelys for two decades but I think my sense of allegiance is wavering. Moreso since their buyout a few years ago.
I'm an infrequent buyer, several boxes of 'hundred' #6, #8 over the course of two years.
I've got $60 of resupply in my McFeelys cart and thought I'd ask if anyone has a favorite supplier?
thanks!
