  Repairing old carved table
Posted by: Trusty Rusty - 07-31-2015, 11:54 AM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (2)

The part that got my attention and why I am posting were some of the things I found that just really seemed cool to me.
1st when I started to dis-assemble the table I could see all the original layout lines. Then when I removed the base, in between the aprons were the plane shavings left when they fitted the aprons.

  Stationary Planer Recommendation
Posted by: Don_M - 07-31-2015, 10:13 AM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (10)

I have the G0453z......and IMHO its great.

I run thousands of BF through it yearly....with little complaints.

To me, a planer isnt a finish tool...I like the spiral heads because they are more quiet and require less blade maintenance.

Not sure $100 is worth my time trying to swap a cutterhead...and getting it aligned. FWIW.

Question while enjoying my Hide Glue
Posted by: C. in Indy - 07-31-2015, 10:02 AM - Forum: Woodworking Hand Tools - Replies (3)

It is, and always has been, the glue of choice for musical instruments, which means a lot of rosewood and ebony and other exotic oily woods. Wipe with lacquer thinner and glue away.

looks that way.

toolbarn still shows it in stock, but the other sites I looked at show as discontinued or out of stock, so toolbarn might be also.

Cheapest place to get self drilling drywall anchors?

https://www.whitecap.com/shop/p/itw-red-...-box-ez100

probably a pricing error but .53 for a box of 100 of the anchors you need to buy screws separately

This is the plastic one you have pictured without the screw
http://www.boltsnutsandtools.com/ez-anch...100-p-1731.html

Box of 50 with screws $9.99 looks to be exactly what you have pictured

  Conveyor belt for drum sander?
Posted by: JSpill - 07-30-2015, 07:58 PM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (2)

I suggest you head to Amazon and search for the jet 16-32 conveyor by Accura. It's a poly belt instead of the fabric and sandpaper used for the original belt. Mine is a couple of years old and is in fine shape.

YMMV
