Briwax |

I have an old dining room table with a walnut veneer top that's fairly worn in spots. The spots have faded to the appearance of raw walnut. I don't want to completely refinish it, but want to even out the color a bit. It doesn't have to be perfect.
I'm thinking of using Briwax dark brown on the whole top, but I'm seeing that a can of it is nearly $30. I'm fairly good at finishing, but haven't used wax for a colorant or to hide worn spots. This does NOT need to be perfect. I don't want to spend the $30 on this if there's little to no chance it will even out the colors.
Does anyone have experience with wood wax and can tell me what to expect or can give me any tips?

Posted a short the other day. Apparently he's negotiated or received the rights back for all of his Woodworks shows and plans to put them up on Youtube!
Good news!

I had a big post about this and lost all my text, so this is version 2.0.
HUGE Indy area power and hand tool auction- check out link below. I am not affiliated with this auction in any way, but this collection was too good not to share. I'm going to bid on some stuff so not in my interest to spread the word on this auction but I think it would be a travesty to not try to help a local WW'er out if I can. I belive it is local pick-up only. I'm guessing this stuff will get up to market value by close on Monday anyway so let capitalism prevail I suppose. it's worth a look even if you're not bidding, and whoever is keeping score I think this guy won.

Old House Electrical |

A family member has an old house probably built in the '50s. The electrical system is not grounded. However, the panel has breakers not fuses. First question: Would the breakers likely be original or added later?
At some point in time, some of the outlets were replaced with new 3 prong outlets. They are marked "no ground". Also, the kitchen and bath have new gfci outlets.
Question 2: Would gfci circuit breakers in the panel be a good solution for better protection? I understand that regular circuit breakers on a non-grounded system will sometimes trip and sometimes not when a problem occurs.
Question 3: What do gfci breakers do that non-gfci breakers don't?
Question 4: If the answer to #2 is yes, does the panel need to be grounded for them to work? I'm unsure if the panel is presently grounded or not. I'm assuming it is not.
Question 5: If gfci breakers are installed in the panel is the system as well protected as it would be with a ground wire?
