  Patio Doors
Posted by: Scoony - 08-20-2015, 07:56 PM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (3)

I swing for snow regions and out swing for hurricane regions. Also roof overhang is a factor as well. Many houses now have little to no overhang and rain can get on the door when open.

Personally I prefer out swing doors. One of the benefits is increased security as its harder to get into a house with an out swing door.

That is a very common "home brew" stain and has been used for years.

Google "vinegar and steel wood stain" for lots of info.

  Cross vise question
Posted by: jihhwood - 08-20-2015, 07:38 AM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (4)

Do you mean a milling vise?

A good milling vise is used on a mill to hold stock secure and precisely for milling. On a drill press, it may just be in the way.

I do have a two slide (Harbor freight) cheap vise in the drill press I like.
I keep the good vise in the milling machine.

I am pretty sure the chicken coop (if it really was used that way) was for laying hens, and not for chickens that were raised for Sunday dinner. It wouldn't make sense to keep the chickens intended for eating inside the house when you have to go outside the house to dispatch them for dinner.
