source for stainless steel 3 prong glides?
Posted by: goaliedad - 09-28-2015, 01:59 PM - Forum: Woodworking - No Replies

I am building a rocking horse and need a quantity of STAINLESS STEEL 3 prong glides for decoration.
I can find nickle plated, but I think Stainless will look alot better. I am looking for about 40 of these- 5/8 inch diameter preferred. This is what I am looking for

If you have any other suggestions, please share. I don't think I can use the single nail type, because they will be used to cover the screw heads. I guess I could very carefully place the screws so the single nail type would work.

Up until now, I'd been unable to get past the words to understand what you were proposing to do. It is much clearer now. Nonetheless, I've been enjoying this build as much as your preceding ones.

Not very fancy. Main part is a spring wound 1 hour timer, to prevent leaving chargers on. Some chargers will shorten battery life if left on.
Timer was $15 from a box store. " />

Works just fine for torsion boxes. It is more brittle so don't expect it to bend as much.

anyone ever cut coves on a tablesaw?
Posted by: EricU - 09-27-2015, 01:36 PM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (13)

not really.

the key is of course that you take small cuts by raising the blade each pass until you get full width.

I generally do the last 2 passes at half the elevation of the first cuts so If I raise the blade 1/2 turn per initial pass I reduce it to 1/4 turn for the last two passes and do it however many times it takes to finish up the cove.

the key is the angle you feed the stock is more or less a cross cut in a trapped guide. that makes it far safer..
