Any have this Woodriver retractable air hose from Woodcraft?
Posted by: bubba - 10-11-2015, 11:30 AM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (8)

No experience with the Woodcraft one but I have had this one, http://www.harborfreight.com/38-in-x-50-...62344.html , from Harbor Freight for years without any problems at all. With a 20 Off Coupon this one wouldn't be that much more money than the shorter Woodcraft one plus you'll end up with a 3/8" hose.

  Dovetail Blanket Chest Glue Up
Posted by: sroxberg - 10-11-2015, 09:42 AM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (5)

If you are really concerned about the time it will take I would just do one end at a time leaving the other end dry. Glue end one assemble it clamp , wait for the glue to set ( about an hour) pop off the dry end repeat and you are done.

If your pins and tails are well fit the only cauls you need will be on the pins. Your dado solution is fine but there is a simpler solution: move cauls to the solid wood adjacent to the pins and clamp. It is not like the joint needs direct pressure after all it is self aligned.

Lastly get over the nervousness you need to have a plan in place and follow it. The work you have in this to this point is to get here do not let gluing drive you insane just do it

Is it the right clicking that is causing problems? If so, hitting Control and clicking the mouse button should let you right click using a one button Mac mouse.

  Finishing process for kitchen cabinets
Posted by: jussi - 10-10-2015, 10:12 PM - Forum: Finishing - Replies (2)

I will only say that I always stain and shellac the floating panel before assembly. If I were painting it I would prime and paint one coat before assembly. Then I would finish the entire door as a unit. Expansion and contraction can leave reveals that are uncoated otherwise.

Shop Fox Band Saw - recommendations ?
Posted by: DogwoodTales - 10-10-2015, 08:08 PM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (5)

it is a decent saw

that said I am not enamored with it I would say a comparable Grizz would be cheaper for the same quality

The quick release is not especially needed band saws are intended to be left under tension
