Question of compatiblity of finishes |

There is only one pretty widely universal incompatibility that I know of and that is waxy Shellac and NC lacquer. The only way to be sure is to try on a test piece. Be aware that Arm-R-Seal is slow curing so you will not be 100% certain sure for a couple weeks. I have not hit incompatibilities between urethanes, acrylics, vinyls and polyesters. But I have only tried a very small subset of those available. The only way to be certain sure with a new finish combination is to test it.

If you are thinking the banjo that holds the tool rest then I am thinking you will have to get one more banjo and have a double rest made.

Air compressor regulator problem |

Unless the compressor used some bastardized thread you will be able to.
nearly all regulators use NPT ( pipe threads) and unloaders as well.
figure out what size the threads are ( take off the regulator and head to the plumbing aisle and use couplings to figure out the size/thread and buy that one. in the closest to the size of the one you already have.
Hint: Ace and True value carry some regulators and IIRC unloader valves. easier to match up on site than via a pic on Ebay
