  SOLD: Mini Max MM16 Bandsaw
Posted by: schloodog - 07-27-2023, 08:22 PM - Forum: Tool Swap N' Sell - Replies (3)

Hello All,

The shop downsizing continues.

I'm selling my 2007 Minimax MM16 Bandsaw. I believe this is the Gen 1 Minimax saw with 3.6 HP and a 12 1/2" resaw capacity. The saw is in solid condition and operates perfectly. The cast iron table is in great shape, no rust.

Made in Italy by Centauro.

I have a number of blades that will included with the saw purchase.

$1600

I'm in Westfield, NJ. Local pick up only only please.

Thanks for looking

  SOLD: Grizzly 2HP Dust Collector
Posted by: schloodog - 07-27-2023, 07:26 PM - Forum: Tool Swap N' Sell - No Replies

The Woodshop Downsizing Continues ...

Grizzly G0548ZP - 2 HP Canister Dust Collector with Aluminum Impeller

Local Pickup:  Westfield NJ

$150

With a filter rating of 1-micron, the canister filter on the G0548ZP 2 HP Dust Collector has 6 times the filtering area of regular bag filters and it has a built-in cleaning brush that is easy to operate from the outside.
Simply move the convenient top-mounted lever back and forth to remove any dust caked onto the filter, and in seconds you are back to full performance capacity.
The G0548ZP has an air suction capacity of 1700 CFM and has a max static pressure of 10 in. Static pressure is produced by the 12-3/4" cast-aluminum impeller to move the wood chips into the collector.
The steel duct from the impeller to the filter improves performance and reliability and with just a glance you'll know when it's time to haul out the chips thanks to the clear bottom bags.

*Downsizing.  Entire Workshop is being offloaded (powermatic tablesaw, powermatic air filtration, Grizzly bandsaw, Grizzly joiner, Grizzly planer, chopsaw, etc)

  Thermostat Wiring - W2/X2 Pin
Posted by: crokett™ - 07-27-2023, 07:16 PM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (3)

trying to decide if my upstairs thermostat is compatible with Nest.  The existing labeling on the Trane thermostat and wiring is

R to red wire
W2/X2 to black wire
W1 to white wire
Y to yellow wire
G to green wire
B to blue wire
O to orange wire

From what I can find, W2 is 2nd stage heat pump, which AFIK I don't have, though I could check the model number.  X2 on a Trane thermostat is emergency heat which would go to * on the Nest, or so says the internet.  The Nest installation site doesn't have anything on the X2 label.

Will this work?

  Saw blade sharpener
Posted by: Jack01 - 07-27-2023, 04:34 PM - Forum: Tool Swap N' Sell - Replies (6)

Saw Blade Sharpener

This can sharpen saw blades from 7 " to 13 "
I have made this modification to original saw blade sharpener.
It makes the sharpener very stable and makes accurate to sharpen.
Absolutely no vibration

This can adjust to variable angles, any type of blades

I have more invested in time and material than what I am asking
I do not have the table saw anymore so parting with extra equipment.

$ 90.00

Redline X Point alignment system. Bought this years ago and used it to align various tools in my shop. All the parts are there. I have got into metal machining the last ten years or so and have all the instruments I need so this is not any longer needed.
$25 plus shipping.

  Improvement to Auxiliary Dovetailing Bench
Posted by: Philip1231 - 07-26-2023, 03:22 PM - Forum: Woodworking Hand Tools - Replies (12)

When I built the auxiliary dovetailing bench https://forums.woodnet.net/showthread.php?tid=7370294, there was one aspect of it that I thought could be improved. Correct alignment of the tail and pin boards is critical when marking out the pins from the tails. I think most craftsman will hold the tail board in alignment by hand on top of the pin board which is held in the front vise. This approach certainly works, but with a dedicated dovetailing bench, I saw an opportunity to add something to aid in this alignment task. What I ended up with is two adjustable fences: one to set the pin board in vertical alignment and one to set the tail board in alignment with the pin board. I tried this arrangement out last week and it does the trick. And the hold down allows me to keep the parts aligned with ease as I mark the pins. It all worked beautifully as I dovetailed a drawer box for my current project. Side note: with the height of this bench, absolutely no strain on my back!

  Re-homing bumblebees/nests
Posted by: brianwelch - 07-25-2023, 02:26 PM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (11)

Next door neighbor has a bumblebee nest in the ground near his mailbox. (Yes, the fat, fuzzy bumblebee, not to be confused with a honeybee/yellowjacket/wasp/hornet/cicada killer).
I have always thought of these bees to be pretty harmless, however, he is allergic and has already been stung by one.
Are there any tried and true methods to, no-so-much kill them but to, persuade them to find a new home?
TIA

  New Organizer?
Posted by: bandit571 - 07-24-2023, 03:23 PM - Forum: Woodworking Hand Tools - Replies (12)

Wood has been resawn to 1/2" thick....some parts are 1/4" or less.....

Only the sides and the back will be full height...

And I am trying to get the grain to line up all the way around...

Top of the box will be a tray....with a lid over it....front of the tray will be dovetailed to the sides....below that, will be a pair of drawers...which is why those narrow strips are needed...both for the Drawer Fronts and sides and backs...and for the front edge of the tray.

That narrow strip?   Divider between the 2 drawers, hiding a plywood panel the upper drawer will be sliding on.....lower drawer will be sliding on a panel that is also a base....

This stack is parts for the lid....might be a Frame & Raised Panel?   We'll see..

Single Brain Cell Sketch Up....all done in me head....seems to work.    Wood is all Ash...other than 2 pieces of 1/4" plywood...
Stay tuned...
