I'm selling my Powermatic 3520b lathe. This has a 2 hp motor, 220v, and can turn up to 20" diameter items. It comes with the standard equipment plus I added the tail stock swing away (really convenient). I will also include a Nova chuck with standard jaws as well as 5 carbide turning tools (including extra carbide inserts for 4 of them). 4 of the tools do not have handles on them but are easy to turn or you can use a modular handle and change them out as you use them (that's what I did). It's been used in a hobby environment, is very clean, and works perfectly - only selling because going to a bigger machine.
This is a heavy lathe so pick up only in Charlotte, NC, and you'll need to bring help. Asking $3,000.
I’m not able to get pictures to attach, so send me a PM and I’ll email them to you.
Great book in excellent condition. Hate to sell. Asking $50.00 plus shipping. The contains 424 pages smoke free, no tears or missing pages. Page in photo shows 1968 first edition printing. Payment can be money order or check. No paypal. Can pickup in Brighton MI. Email if you have questions.
I milled about 2000 board feet of red oak last year. Mostly quartersawn 5/4, some slabs. This was in early November, so close to 10 months ago.
The 5/4 stacks are roughly between 8% and 15%. The 8/4 slabs are still pretty wet (25-30% in the middle). I was advised to air dry as much as possible because of the tannic acid content of the wood.
If it still needs to be stickered at that MC, I will leave it. My understanding was that it won't get to interior equilibrium MC outside ever and will stay right around the 10% mark, more or less. If I can stack it like normal dry wood at this point, I would love to. But as this is my first time drying this much wood, I thought I would ask.
quick action, ratchet rapid closure, single movement cam handle then locks. I have one installed on bench top joinery bench, works very well. 7" wides, opens sto 8". can use as face vise or tailvise. VG - excellent condition, ratchet teeth undamaged. I have two available (don't ask me why, I don't know, but keeping the one on the joinery bench, selling the other two.)
If you know mfg name and more about these vises, let me know
prefer local pickup in southern Indiana, (Jeffersonville, across from Louisville) weight 22#, (28# boxed)

I haven't been on here for a long so I thought I would catch up a bit. I have been really busy. I an not sure if I showed this one or not. It was done a few years back but it is picture heavy so I will just give you a link.
I have also become the kinda proud owner of 15 jukeboxes.. Most of the cabinets are made of particle board and are in not so good shape. Here are are a couple of links.
I have plenty of winter projects. I was at Clark AFB from June 69-Oct 70 except for a 3 month tdy to a radar site on the DMZ in South Korea. Plans are to return next spring before the rainy season starts. If I don't make it I will go next fall after the rainy season is over. Plan to go to Paete whiche is known as the wood carving capital of the Philippines.

A friend of a friend has a table, just realized though she has one leaf, she is missing 2 more. I have agreed to make new leaves . The table looks vintage 50's to 60's when the alignment pins were thin brass - see the photo. I have done some searching ( Rockler and Lee Valley ) and can only find the more contemporary pins, which are more of a bullet shape, and much thicker. I can always turn new ones out of brass to fit existing, but didn't know if anyone has a source for the old style.
I'm in the market for a new bench grinder. Will be grinding metal lathe tools and other miscellaneous items relating to metalworking. Anyone bought one lately that they like?
The basic question: how much to combine my two electrical meters into one service?
Details:
The property has 2 meters; the house and a shop.
They both source from the same transformer.
The shop runs overhead about 50' to a pole; the weatherhead runs down this pole behind the shop to the meter and then to the original outside panel.
I believe the main breaker in this panel is 60 Amp.
This panel has a breaker for the well, one small GFI, and my shop.
I believe the shop has 2/0 AWG wire running underground from the outside panel into the panel in the shop w/ a 100 Amp main breaker (I'm fairly certain of all this except for the wire gauge—it’s only about a 12’ run but 2/0 seems correct).
Although I have a number of circuits for lights and tools, I rarely use more than 3 circuits at any one time. I've never popped a breaker.
Most are 15 Amp, might be some 20's; there's at least one 30 Amp for the 220 cabinet saw.
Lots of space for more circuits but rather unlikely to happen.
The power for the house runs from the same transformer as the shop but it runs straight down the pole and then underground about 200' to 250’ to the meter. The main panel in the house is almost directly behind the meter.
The distance from the outside panel at the shop is 150-200' from the house main panel.
The house service is 200 Amp.
The house panel is most likely 200 Amp and also has numerous open slots.
The reason for all this is Duke raised the minimum rate for service to $30.00 and the shop barely uses $12.50.
I realize more specifics are needed to get a quote but can anyone ballpark an estimate somewhere between a bunt and a home run?
Can you tell from this info whether we need a new sub panel in the house or if the shop's main panel can be wired into the existing house panel?
Would a 125 Amp circuit be sufficient?
What wire is needed to run from the shop to the house?
If this were you, would you move the circuit for the well to the shop and bypass the outside panel too—ignoring the GFI?
