  Shop Cabinet do's and don't's
Posted by: Rick_B - 02-04-2015, 02:29 PM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (5)

While the construction likely doesn't necessitate 1/2" ply I would use because of the mobile usage this cabinet will see. Presuming the casters are to make it mobile.

The first time I wheeled it around the shop I'd back it into something sharp enough to gouge the 1/4" ply, perhaps even hard enough to puncture it.

  Harbor Freight flash light cannon
Posted by: Woodshop - 02-03-2015, 10:25 AM - Forum: Woodturning - Replies (24)

I finally finished the carriage for this one. I think I have made 7 of these in the past, they are very poplar at Xmas time. (rob your neighbor game gift).
I use a Free harbor freight flash light. overall about 9-1/2" long and stands about 4-1/2 tall.
This one is walnut and maple, finished with Lacquer and will set on my desk
Winkgrin at least until I forget to make a gift for someone, and give it to them

Made 2 this year. very fun to make.

Neat project.

I see you're using the same Monkey Wards saw I own. Which is why I have to say I would not have had the courage to do those cuts on it.

Hello John , I have always enjoyed your build alongs , thanks for posting them . I have 2 questions . I know you have explained this before but what are you using for your vacuum bags & pump . Next is your drum sander , how well does it work for you by making 2 passes for a wide panel . I am looking for a drum sander as far as my next purchase . Thanks again , Gary

My new bandsaw blade go to place
Posted by: Sean® - 01-17-2015, 11:15 AM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (8)

I have one of the Diemaster II blades on my saw right now. It doesn't cut quite as clean as a Woodslicer, but it's already lasted longer than the WS did. It's the one I'll use from now on, I bookmarked that page you linked.

I put one on last year. I also have a thein baffle. I made a doughnut out of MDF. I put a groove to set over the edge of the DC to help seal. It has been working well for me.
