Well, in my local Woodcraft in Columbus, they changed their process and are selling lumber by the piece. So in that example you shared, the price would be for the entire board. Hope this takes the edge off and limits the fear of lumber inflation.

I stole the nib, feed and screw on plunger from a pen I never use.

Machined a brass section and overlayed the wood. The mahogany is threaded inside to screw onto the section.



Still working on a cap, need to grind a ID threading tool as mine are too big.

1/2 to 2/3 the width of the breadboard for the tenons the intermediate stubs I make 1/2" and stop them about 1/2" in for the ends
