Use the on hand solder---clean each joint really well.
Lead free solder is intended for potable water soldering. I usually use rosin core for electrical, but for air systems it is fine.

Stupid Question #34 |

It would be a board 8/4 thick, x 12"wide x 8' long. Oak can be reasonable depending on where you find it, but that piece certainly brings more $ than it's narrower, less thick cousins.
In general terms no one "makes" hardwood lumber. Graders at the mill direct the sizes cut based on suspected yield. Obviously more profit will be realized with a greater yield given a flat cut board. Sometimes wood is quarter sawn, which can have a lower yield, but often fetches more desirability, and also has higher prices.
Basic information about hardwood size I'd suggest reading through.

Had same issue with my 17" Griz b/s yellow tires. They fell apart after 5 years, very little use. Could not find urethane 17" at the time. Replaced with Griz grey ones. Looks like Griz has urethane ones now. Have never used glue on any bandsaw tires Grizzly T23071 - Urethane Bandsaw Tire for 17" (Pair $22.50 )

redwood tongue and grove paneling |

Why finish it at all? My sauna is unfinished redwood. It's 25 years old and looks great, just a little darker from natural aging. All finishes will darken it from it's raw appearance, even shellac; the lightest color it will ever be is the natural wood. Walls don't get much abuse, so I'd leave it raw. Dings and splashes add character, but could easily be removed by sanding w/o having to worry about matching the finish.
