  What finish would be best?
Posted by: teacher - 09-01-2015, 09:11 AM - Forum: Woodturning - Replies (5)

Almost any oil finish should do the job. I like Waterlox, but it is expensive compared to some other oil based finishes. Danish Oil is a commonly used finish that would also work, and it's commonly available at the big box stores, and even Walmart.

M-WTCA meet in Mars, PA, part II

Hello Bill, if the weather is good, the tailgating goes strong until about noon, then most start winding down. There are always some that stay set up until mid-afternoon. Sometimes there is the possibility of setting up inside if it rains, but most times not. The second best time would be Friday when the action moves inside. Hope to see you there!

  Design considerations, Proportions?

This is where SketchuP is a huge help to me. Short of that I would make a scaled drawing, or even a full sized one of one end of the table.

  Radial Arm Saw question

My recommendation would be to chat with the boys on OWWM or over at the Delphi forum. Someone at either place just might have what you're looking for and possibly be in your area.

Good luck,

Doug

  CROWN MOLDING QUESTION
Posted by: Brian Miller - 08-31-2015, 01:30 PM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (4)

Not sure I understand but if it is off 10 degrees total the corner is out 5 degrees. That would mean 33 miter and 28.5 bevel for a 95 degree corner.

I use a construction master app on my phone. There are YouTube videos also.

  Stackable
Posted by: EP - 08-31-2015, 01:15 PM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (7)

We've had a pair of Kenmore Elites for going on 8 years now. Only had a leak problem with the front load washer, and that was my fault in that I didn't perform the very simple maintenance of wiping around the rubber seal with a wet towel. And yes, they are stackable.

Now, here's what I'd say to consider before you stack them----

---worst ergonomic aspect is lifting wet clothes from washer to dryer----if you don't mind this---great.

---wherever you're going to place them----make sure you can access the water shut-off valves and the plugs.

---If you are on a raised foundation or have a basement----I'd see to it that the floor joists are stiffened up. There's a lot of vibration from the washer when it comes up to full spin speed---its usually only momentary, but consider this as well as the fact that you will have more weight (from stacking) on one spot.
