LED light and garage door opener remote
Posted by: Bope - 11-23-2015, 08:51 AM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (12)

It's a weird thing, but I have read that LED lights do indeed interrupt the remote signal.

Need opinions on a tool chest
Posted by: Herb G - 11-22-2015, 06:48 PM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (12)

I don't own it...but I'd wanna go check it out in person. You can tell pretty quickly by opening a drawer where in the quality spectrum they lie.

Harbor Freight tool chests seem to get pretty good reviews despite being Harbor Freight...so you might compare the two.

  Band saw blade burning wood

Round over the trailing edge corners of the blade is something that comes to mind.

  Twist

Twist sux. It will send you to a asylum trying to straighten. Which at the end of the day will most likely not work.

  Help me choose a welder
Posted by: live4ever - 11-22-2015, 05:15 PM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (13)

I am just barely above a newbie in the welding department. All I own is an old Lincoln AC "tombstone" Stick Welder. I have used others MIG machines and they are VERY nice. Make a new guy look good usually.
Lately I have been dreaming of a Lincoln Multi-Process machine. You can do Stick, MIG and TIG with one machine. They run about a grand. So it will be a dream for awhile yet...

Does face frame stock have to be twist free?
Posted by: jussi - 11-22-2015, 05:01 PM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (4)

I haven't built lots of face frames but I have had lot of experience with things "almost" being right and I have always been unhappy that I did't make it right later.
Won't hurt anything to try but I suspect that you will end up throwing it away and starting over at some point.

Question for the cyclone DC owner
Posted by: atgcpaul - 11-22-2015, 03:06 PM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (4)

Sounds like you have a leak some where between the can and lid or cyclone and lid. Might even be the can. Can you put it all in a plastic trash bag and seal it to the cyclone body. Turn it on and it will verify if you have a leak by sucking the bag tight to the container.

handwheel thread on Delta 46-460 Lathe
Posted by: Doug_H - 11-22-2015, 02:00 PM - Forum: Woodturning - Replies (3)

If this is a full size lathe, the Deltas are usually 1x8 tpi with a left hand thread (on the outboard side). But it should be easy to measure and count if you have access to the spindle...
