Joe
I seen a guy use this tool for turning all sorts of things from fishing lures, pens to bowls and vases.

There are better ones below that one further on the page. It is so easy to use it. For a pen kit he put in 5 to 8 drops of CA and sprayed it while slowly turning it and the same with all of his other turnings it was fantastic to see and how easy it is to use. Easy to clean up by just spraying acetone through it.
I want to get one so bad I can taste it.

I would think about making a base can be squared and plumbed absolutely. You can put levelers where needed, and drop alignment pins where needed. Whole thing can be hidden with a toekick. Then your cabs will slide right in or drop right on.

Go to the Goodwill second hand store, pick up a used crock pot for a few dollars and do this:
Linky
I'm not a hide glue user, so I can't speak to the rest of it. But I do use an old crock pot to melt paraffin for use on rockers and other projects.

For your $10 you will get well intentioned advise that probably will help anyone who has a machine in good alignment, and be of little help to those whos isn't until they figure out that is the root of their problems.
