  Permanent Paint for Whiteboard
Posted by: Don_M - 12-27-2023, 06:03 PM - Forum: Finishing - Replies (3)

This may not be the forum for this question - but I want to paint (pinstripe) some lines on a dry-erase white board (i.e., permanent lines). What would be the best paint for this? Is it even possible? Thanks

GONE Drill Press lathe rest (still free)
Posted by: matzner - 12-27-2023, 04:03 PM - Forum: Tool Swap N' Sell - Replies (6)

GONE Drill press lathe rest - turn your press into a spindle lathe!  I think one generic small bolt is missing. This is a bit of a wacky gadget and it's free for the shipping cost - smallish but heavy.

  Corner Floating Shelves
Posted by: RPE1 - 12-27-2023, 11:29 AM - Forum: Woodworking - No Replies

My son has a extensive Lego collection.  He wants a corner shelf to put a large Lego structure on.  It will be the size of two TV trays placed perpendicular to each other.   I've never seen a floating shelf in a corner.  Are there any special considerations?  I am wondering also about internal framing of the shelf portion.  Any ideas?
Thanks
RP

Does anyone know about Zinnser CLEAR synthetic BIN primer
Posted by: PossumDog - 12-27-2023, 12:38 AM - Forum: Finishing - Replies (4)

I was looking at Zinsser's site for other information and saw the apparently new product Clear BIN Advanced Primer with synthetic shellac. I've never heard of it, but it makes sense they'd be working on synthetic shellac.

It's interesting if it really is more clear than regular shellac that is still blonde or superblonde. I'd be interested to know if it's good for woodworking. Like if it can replace their sealcoat product, or if it's only good for projects that will be painted.

The new clear BIN is $37-50 gallon at places like Walmart, Home Depot. That's even cheaper than white pigmented BIN.
The last time I bought Zinsser seal coat it was about $25 a quart.
