Laguna Tools Customer Servcie - Kudos - jcousins2 - 07-08-2025 I have been using resaw king blades for several years – 1” carbide run on a mm16 – strictly for cutting veneers. Have always kept a backup previously sharpened blade on the wall for the time when “good” blade dulls. That backup blade was sharpened in July, 2024 – it’ been waiting since then. Well, the “good” blade did get dull – so I took the backup sharpened blade down – removed the plastic sheathing, and installed it. It cut terrible – really loud, vibrating, and lots of lurching. Checked the weld and gullets for cracks – all looked fine. Then I reset everything just to make sure – and same thing. I called Laguna and told them my tale. They opened up a case – followed up and asked for some verification – pics of the welds and video of cutting. After reviewing things they totally made good on the blade. Here’s to laguna tools - props when props are due. In the past I have had other blades sharpened which worked just fine. jc RE: Laguna Tools Customer Servcie - Kudos - Arlin Eastman - 07-08-2025 That is the first positive CS for Luguna I heard in 12 years since I dealt with them and many others so a thumbs up for you. RE: Laguna Tools Customer Servcie - Kudos - lift mechanic - 07-10-2025 My Resaw king blade that I purchased with my Laguna HD 16, 15 years ago hit a piece of metal in a board. Sent it to Laguna for resharpening with a check for sharpening and shipping. I did not read the fine print; they will not sharpen a blade that is more than 3 years old. In the meantime, I bought another resaw king blade. I called Laguna about why they will not sharpen an older blade of theirs. They are not set up to sharpen older blades anymore. They sent my old unsharpened blade back to me, no refund. I called them and asked for a refund minus the shipping. It took about a month, but they refunded the shipping and sharpening charge. When I compared the old blade to the new one, it was a completely different design, both being carbide tipped. The new blade cuts just as good as the older blade did. I have a bit of a different take - That’s the bare minimum I’d expect and wouldn’t consider it anything special or above and beyond. Laguna screwed up sharpening their own blade and it got through quality control too……….really no excuse on their part. AND , this is not the first report of this happening on the forums I visit. Now I gotta find someone that will sharpen them. -Mark, owner of 2x older RK blades RE: Laguna Tools Customer Servcie - Kudos - Mr Eddie - 07-14-2025 I ordered a RSK blade for my Laguna 14-12 on May 25. It arrived first week of July. Hard to believe Laguna doesn't stock a standard blade for one of their most popular models. My father always told me "Don't make it hard for your customer to give you their money." A lesson Laguna would be wise to learn. Lonnie |
