Fleur-de-lis - Splinterz25 - 07-08-2025

Hello once again everyone I had shown this piece a while ago At that point I had just finished laying it out the rim and started carving it. I have turned and carved the main body from a piece of Black Limba, the rim is curly Maple. My work is hand drawn and hand carved no AI or CNC is used in any of my work. At this point I'm about half way on carving the rim, have put on a coat of Deft sanding sealer to help me see the details better, it also helps harden up the wood a bit for better carving results. I still need to turn and carve the base for this piece as well.

Bruce, I could do that in 27 minutes, okay, okay, it might take me 33 minutes.

Truthfully, I wish I had words to express just how much I appreciate you taking the time to share your talent with us again.

Thank you, Bruce.

Hello once again everyone I have finished the bowl section of this piece and do not think I will make a base at this time. Made from Black Limba & Curly Maple, it finished at 13" D x 2.5" The color is ART Alchemy Antique Wax it will have to dry for a month before I put Polycrylic on for the final finish.
