Plywood cutter system? - DogwoodTales - 06-22-2025 Years ago I attended a Kelly Mehler seminar and he showed us a blade system that had a plywood cutting blade with a much smaller blade leading the cut. The smaller blade would score the plywood face and the trailing larger blade would finish the cut. I’m wondering what that tool is called and where I might find one. I don’t know exactly what to call it, so my internet searches on multiple search engines are bringing up results of anything but what I’m looking for. Thanks RE: Plywood cutter system? - barryvabeach - 06-22-2025 Not familiar with that seminar, but are you talking about a scoring blade? https://www.konetool.com/what-is-a-scoring-blade-on-a-table-saw/ RE: Plywood cutter system? - TheCabinetmaker - 06-22-2025 On my sliding scoring table saw the scoring blade has its own motor that can be turned off if needed. It also runs in the opposite direction. RE: Plywood cutter system? - stav - 06-22-2025 There is a Festool track saw that has a scoring blade. https://www.festoolusa.com/products/sawing/track-saws/576735---tsv-60-kebq-f-plus-us#Overview RE: Plywood cutter system? - DogwoodTales - 06-22-2025 Yes! But this one was in a housing that included the main blade. I think the scoring blade was driven by the main arbor via a gear system. Come to think of it just now, I think Kelly’s table saw book covers them as a topic. I got a signed copy of that at the seminar... it’s here … somewhere… probably still buried in one of the plethora of moving boxes still in my barn since we moved here three years ago ? Maybe I can find it later when the grandchildren go home. RE: Plywood cutter system? - stav - 06-22-2025 Sliding table saws often include them. RE: Plywood cutter system? - Brian in sunny FL - 06-23-2025 I've never seen a single blade to do that and don't know how it could be done without a separate arbor. Many times I ran plywood twice, first time to score second time to cut. I'm not in a hurry RE: Plywood cutter system? - jlanciani - 06-23-2025 There was an adaptor called Modulus, it worked with most table saws. Im pretty sure they are no longer available.
