Garage sale find...$2 - bandit571 - 05-24-2025 And..it was the "Pick of the Litter" of the 6 that were all tangled up in a pile... [attachment=54709] 10" sweep. Chuck WILL hold even the round shanked drill bits... [attachment=54710] All it needs is a bit of a clean up....everything works nicely. Any ideas out there, about who made this drill? Thinking Gooddell Pratt Co. but not sure...maybe a No. 1052? RE: Garage sale find...$2 - Arlin Eastman - 05-24-2025 If it works it is a good find. ![]() RE: Garage sale find...$2 - stav - 05-25-2025 I didn't know braces were made so they could hold round shank bits. I thought they all used the pyramid shanked bits. RE: Garage sale find...$2 - bandit571 - 05-25-2025 All depends on the jaws inside the shell....Barber Chucks are more for the square shanked bits... I guess that is why they came out with the "Hold-All" style chucks... RE: Garage sale find...$2 - stav - 05-27-2025 I need to look into these Hold All chucks. A lot of people use twist bits in them, but frankly, a brace is not optimal for twist bits at all, they crave RPM, not torque. RE: Garage sale find...$2 - bandit571 - 05-28-2025 While looking through an old P.S. &W. Catalog, 1910 era... found this.. [attachment=54719] Hmmm.. [attachment=54720] No. 3002, Nickel plated 10" sweep...ring shifter....Same chuck. Same Ratchet...almost the same Price.... |
