Lamello Zeta p2 opinions - JDuke - 04-30-2025 Apparently lamello has continued to advance the biscuit joiner market. Not far from me there is a zeta p2 available for a little over $1000 I sold my biscuit joiner after I got a domino. But the Zeta p2 also does these interesting joints for locking hardware. I don’t think the zeta p2 is worth buying since I already have a domino but I’m open to opinion. It would be worth it if you do a lot of KD cabinets. Here's a thread over at SMC about it and sources for the connectors, which do not seem to be widely available. Link John RE: Lamello Zeta p2 opinions - JDuke - 05-01-2025 By most standards I don’t do a lot of anything. I don’t build much knockdown anything, but as my kids enter the transient phase of their life, that may change some. The domino also has hardware for knockdown type joinery so I’m more or less asking us the zeta p2 joinery enough better to warrant buying another $1k plus tool? I could make a case that no $1000+ tool is more better enough to warrant purchasing for a one off or once a year project that you’re not charging $ for. How much/often do you use your domino ? Do you do more work simply because you have it now than you did when you had to make mortises by hand or with a router and jig ? Or, did it simply replace other tools / methods for the projects you made/ make ? Do you get a sense of pride in ownership from it ? What’s the value of that ? Was that purchase worth it to you for the use it gets ? I have a domino , and won’t part with it. But it ain’t worth the price from a productivity standpoint nor from a return on investment perspective. I have other cheaper and or amortized tools that will get the same thing accomplished. That said , I still reach for it from time to time and enjoy it. So, is a P2 worth it ? I bet you can easily answer that with a bit of self reflection. This video does a great job comparing the tools , and he has other videos dedicated to the tools individually and their knock down fittings. https://youtu.be/m78BZHu-uuA?si=tU_h9c--7YWquYGY |
