Kreg Jig screw question - Randy C - 03-08-2025 I am building a workbench where a yellow pine 2 by 4 will need to be screwed to a red oak 2 by 4. I have previously used a Jig to attach pine 2 by 4 lumber and I recall using a course screw because the wood is relatively soft. Do they make a fine screw for use on hardwoods like oak? Thanks RE: Kreg Jig screw question - Allen - 03-08-2025 (03-08-2025, 06:33 PM)Randy C Wrote: I am building a workbench where a yellow pine 2 by 4 will need to be screwed to a red oak 2 by 4. Thanks RE: Kreg Jig screw question - MayaIbuki - 03-22-2025 Yes, they do make fine-thread pocket hole screws specifically for hardwoods like red oak. Fine-thread screws are better suited for hardwoods because they grip the dense fibers more effectively and reduce the risk of splitting. |
