Chisel / leather / rubber day down Indy way - C. in Indy - 02-15-2025

A rainy Saturday,

Catching up on some watch-strap leather work and shoe-heel rubber work.
A nice cutting edge gets 90% of the trimming done,  then I'll move to power sanding equipment.

You didn't tell us how the new heel is fixed to the sole/heel.  I recall from when I wore shoes,
Rolleyes that the heel stack had brads, as well as cement, attaching it the sole.  Are those there?

True enough!

The heelstack has some factory brads going downward which had just pierced the heel-lift rubber pieces.  I cemented the new heel-lifts with contact cement, but before doing so I marked them and made a few divots (partial drill holes) to allow the existing 6-nails-per-heel to mate to them approximately.    I don't have a cobbler's stand or such things, but I walked in them right after gluing on the oversized heels, to really pound the glue joint
