You really think he's progressed to Junior? I would have rated him as Developing.

A ringing endorsement, thanks Jack. Now I have to study up on how to really become one. Google is my friend, I found this:

"How to Become a Full Fledged Curmudgeon"

I will start this program now, so I can graduate to "full Curmudgeonry"!

After checking out that link, I would change my vote. Curmudgeonry seems to be pretty good!!!

Re: Is Admiral a Curmudgeon? - Mike Brady - 09-21-2015

Can I be one too?

Wannabee curmudgeon only ... a full fledged curmudgeon has no interest in tools - you will need to sell off everything that costs more than $10 and/or is not rusty!

The cited article is one in which the author attempts to rehabilitate the concept of a curmudgeon.

Go look it up in the dictionary of your choice and you'll find that it is defined as one or more of the following traits: miserly, grumpy, surly, crusty, ill-tempered.

Re: Is Admiral a Curmudgeon? - TGW - 09-21-2015

That list is just for wannabees.
A real curmudgeon does not waste his time writing lists when there are socks waiting to be mended.....

Personally I cannot drive past a golf course without getting angry. I tend to think about how many sheep I could feed on all that wasteland and how much smoked mutton that would make not to mention all the useful manure. Though I would not define myself as a curmudgeon. I prefere to defy categorisation and be cheerful and friendly.
