RE: Plans for wall hanging cabinet - Hank Knight - 05-24-2025 Arlin, I thought about building an enclosed tool cabinet, but I figured I'd out grow it. Over the years, as my collection of had planes increased, I built several storage facilities for them. None of them is enclosed, so my planes are easily accessible and easy to put back when I'm done using them. I did what Barry suggested: I laid them out and built storage facilities around them to fit the wall space I had. Here is most of my plane storage, My block places and other similar ones are on an open shelf to the left of this rack: ![]() Similarly, I built a simple 3-piece rack (till) for my hand saws. My long saws are supported by a dowel on the lower piece and the blades are separated from each other bu a slotted upper piece. My short joinery and Japanese saws hang from slots in a board mounted to the wall just below my long saws. it's very simple, easy to build ant keeps my saws organized within easy reach of my workbench. ![]() This is probably not what you asked for, but maybe it will give you some ideas. I am now thinking of what someone did here of the dovetail board wall so I can hang what ever I wish or change it up. Thanks My wall part is about 3'x3' above the table I have. RE: Plans for wall hanging cabinet - Arlin Eastman - 06-01-2025 After seeing what Paul is going to make this has me convinced to do the same. https://forums.woodnet.net/showthread.php?tid=7378589 |
