Similarly, I built a simple 3-piece rack (till) for my hand saws. My long saws are supported by a dowel on the lower piece and the blades are separated from each other bu a slotted upper piece. My short joinery and Japanese saws hang from slots in a board mounted to the wall just below my long saws. it's very simple, easy to build ant keeps my saws organized within easy reach of my workbench.
