hi Roger,
On the newer style rail for a unifence, there is a t slot on the bottom of the rail. the flip stop slides in that rail and flips in an out to stop the fence head. I don't have any pics of mine handy but if you look at the manual on Vintage Machinery on page 8, it has the instructions.
