I'm guessing that allowing someone to work the way they want to requires approval?

I've gotten lots of good advice here and try to return the favor when I think I have something to offer, but folks are free to use or reject advice as they choose.

Someone comes in proud of an accomplishment and you choose to trash his every move. Since he does not work for you he can do it any way he wishes and that should be respected. He was not asking for advice. Just my opinion but I believe you owe him an apology.

Trashing?  I'm sorry you think so.  That's not what I intended.  But communication is measured by how it's received, not how it was intended, so if I offended anyone you have my apology.

No apology necessary, John. You offered an alternative way to work and the logical reasons why (as you always do), sound advice IMO. Just consider the source.
