Segment Bowl Tutorial - mtrainer90 - 06-04-2025
In part 1 of this 4-part segmented bowl tutorial series, we talk about segmented bowl design & math, cutting segments, and then glueing & clamping segments into rings to build a cherry, black walnut and purpleheart segment bowl. The finished bowl will be 16 inches wide by 5in tall featuring 9 rings made up of 24 segments each.

Well done tutorial. I've often wondered why folks come up with so many ways for stacking tings. The two things I've always felt strongly about is flattening every ring after it's been added to the stack and turning every ring round after it's been added to the stack to keep everything centered. With that said if a method works and the turner is happy with the end product that's all that matters.
