  hybrid table saw advise
Posted by: roger901 - 01-05-2016, 08:29 AM - Forum: Woodworking Power Tools - Replies (6)

I have a Sears "ZIP Code" saw. I have been very happy with it. It is a hybrid (cabinet saw type trunnions, but 110 v). I believe the model # I have is a 22104 which I upgraded with a Biesemeyer fence. the 22124 came with the Biesemeyer.

I would highly recommend it.

I purchased it new about 7-8 years ago.

The newer ones come with a granite top (I cannot comment on the pro's/cons's to that. Mine is the cast iron top)

Anyway, hope that helps

  wood holding problem: tapered legs

Could you use a pipe clamp to hold your leg and then put your pipe clamp in a vise ?

Been keeping my eye open for one of those. Just to satisfy my fetish for miter boxes. No luck yet. Looks like you have a piece of fire wood on the end of that plate.

At What Point Do You Consider Building Your Own Cabinet Doors?
Posted by: DieselDennis - 01-04-2016, 09:01 PM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (14)

I would build them. 12 identical doors are much easier than 12 different doors, and shaker style is the easiest to make. You do not even need a set of router bits. These are simply stub tenon doors that can be made on the table saw.

All these years I have simply plopped mine upside down in an old coffee can.

I think it was Peachtree. I missed out on the Black Friday deal but picked one up there last week for $100 off.

Nice Richard. I love my versa vise, AKA gyro vise.
A friend of mine has a big drawknife like that and likes it because he uses it to peal bark from logs before milling and the wide set handles give lots of knuckle room.

  Low temp glue?

If I were you I would check with the manufacture.
I would say that it is a little to cold for the glue to work.

Some of them have a reverse setting. I put mine in reverse and give it a push or two.

  Furnace warranty repair
Posted by: geek2me - 01-04-2016, 02:58 PM - Forum: Home Improvement - Replies (31)

Had a new Luxaire TM9X060 installed two years ago. Installer seemed good, did a good job, but doesn't seem to want to do the warranty work.

Luxaire doesn't want to sell me the part. Other installers say to call the first guy, they don't want to "take his work".

So much for small town living :-0

The problem is the condensate tank - it's cracked. It's an easy replacement, I can DIY, I just need the part. It is still within warranty, I just can't find a place to provide the part (or even willing to sell it to me).

Any suggestions? Thanks.
